In celebration of World Art Day, the Winter Garden Art Association, in conjunction with the City of Winter Garden, will host Arts in April, a series of FREE events throughout the month for the community to celebrate, explore, and create art. 

CHALKIN’ IT UP SIDEWALK ART CONTEST 
When: Saturday, April 2 (9 a.m.-5 p.m.) & Sunday, April 3 (11 a.m.-4 p.m.) 
Where: City Hall, 300 W. Plant St. 
Description: Bloom & Grow Garden Society presents the Chalkin’ It Up Sidewalk Art Contest at Spring Fever in the Garden. 


KIDS ART SESSIONS AT THE WINTER GARDEN FARMERS MARKET 
When: Saturdays: April 9, 16, & 23, 9 a.m.–12 p.m. 
Where: Downtown Pavilion, 104 S. Lakeview Ave. 
Description: Complimentary Kids Art Sessions for children 4-12 years old. Come by the Art Tent to create a variety of art activities. No pre-registration is needed. 


URBAN SKETCHERS COMPETITION & EN PLEIN AIR EVENT AT WG FARMERS MARKET 
When: Saturday, April 9, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
For Participating Artists: 9 a.m. (artists check-in at SOBO). Upload up to three pics of your work by 6 p.m. on April 9 (one artwork should include the SOBO check-in stamp). Winners announced on April 12 by email and on www.wgart.org. 

Where: Downtown Pavilion, 104 S. Lakeview Ave. 
Participating artists should check in at SOBO Art Gallery, 127 S. Boyd St. Bring blank paper or canvas to be stamped at check-in. 

Description: Watch artists’ creations come to life as they sketch their surroundings right before your eyes. Create art anywhere around Winter Garden Farmers Market/Downtown Pavilion, 104 S. Lakeview Ave. 


ARTS IN APRIL POP-UP EVENTS AT WINTER GARDEN FARMERS MARKET

Description: Visit the Farmers Market on April 23 for art-related surprises! 


DOWNTOWN ART SCAVENGER HUNT 
When: Saturday, April 30, 11 a.m.–2 p.m. Pick-up Scavenger Hunt Form/Conduct Scavenger Hunt: 11 a.m.–1 p.m. (Winter Garden Farmers Market) Deadline to return Scavenger Hunt Form to SOBO ART Gallery: 2 p.m. 

Where: Check in/pick up Scavenger Hunt Form at the SOBO Tent (11 a.m.-1 p.m.) at the Winter Garden Farmers Market/Downtown Pavilion, 104 S. Lakeview Ave. Scavenger Hunt clues are throughout Historic Downtown Winter Garden. Return Scavenger Hunt form to SOBO Art Gallery, 127 S. Boyd St. 

Description: Kids of all ages are welcome to participate in the Downtown Art Scavenger Hunt to find clues throughout the businesses of Historic Downtown Winter Garden. The Art Honor Society of Horizon High School will distribute Scavenger Hunt Forms from the SOBO Tent at Winter Garden Farmers Market. Follow the clues and return your Scavenger Hunt Form to the SOBO Art Gallery by 2 p.m. on April 30. All answers must be correct to be eligible for the grand prize. 


ARTS IN APRIL PROJECTION SHOW ON CITY HALL 
When: Saturday, April 30, 8 p.m.–10 p.m. 
Where: City Hall, 300 W. Plant St. 
Description: Artists’ works will be illuminated on the front façade of City Hall, creating a visually stunning immersive art experience. The public is invited to stroll by, grab a nearby bench, or bring a chair to enjoy the beautiful display powered by projection mapping. 


ART NIGHT VIP IMMERSIVE ART EXPERIENCE – Ticket purchase required 
When: Saturday, April 30, 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. 
Where: Historic Downtown Winter Garden 

Description: Immerse yourself in the arts on this special night that grants VIP access to specially curated venues throughout downtown, complimentary beverages and light appetizers, as well as a silent and live auction. Immersive art experiences include a Glow in the Dark Art Exhibit at SOBO Art Gallery, Outdoor Sculpture Exhibit at Monarch Butterfly Sculpture Park, Behind the Scenes at Garden Theatre, and a P-ARTicipation Painting Project and Ritzi Art Auction at City Hall Art in Public Places Gallery, and an outdoor art show projected onto the front of City Hall. 

Individual tickets are $75. Ticket price includes a $35 annual membership to the Winter Garden Art Association, which provides perks throughout the year. Sponsorship packages, which include complimentary tickets, are also available. The event is a fundraiser to benefit the 501c3 non-profit Winter Garden Art Association.
